It’s no secret that most patients who drop out of lens wear do so because of discomfort and dryness. And, patients who make it to 45 years old as contact lens wearers are rare.

These days, dry eye in contact lens wearers is certainly at an all-time high. I used to turn a blind eye and attempted to solve the problem by switching my patients to a new monthly or two-week lens or to a new solution. Then, I started shifting them all to daily disposables.
